After being closed for a period, the huge slide at the ArcelorMittal Orbit has now re-opened, now being operated by the Zip World organisation. The slide is based in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, at the top of the giant 376-foot tall Orbit structure that was ordered by then Mayor of London Boris Johnson to be part of the 2012 Olympic legacy. The unique observation tower was designed by Turner Prize–winning artist Anish Kapoor, alongside architect Cecil Balmond.

The slide was added in 2016 to try and encourage more people to engage with the landmark.
Zip World announced the re-opening in a press release stating:
Zip World London will operate the ArcelorMittal Orbit at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford.
The reopening of the ArcelorMittal Orbit operated by Zip World London also brings the launch of ‘Helix’ – the world’s biggest tunnel slide. At 76m high, visitors will travel at speeds of up to 15mph, turning 12 times around the iconic sculpture before reaching ground level.
If it’s panoramic views of London you’re looking for, the ArcelorMittal Orbit 360 viewing deck is at the very top of the sculpture, 80 metres high. On a clear day, you can see as far as 20 miles and take in some of the city’s world-famous landmarks.
Tickets are now available to take a ride on Helix from £14, plus a £5 booking fee per order. Head to https://www.zipworld.co.uk/locations/london to find out more.
