In March Merlin confirmed that Minecraft World will be coming to Chessington World of Adventures in 2027. This is a significant win for the Surrey theme park, as Minecraft is one of the most popular IPs in the world that does not currently have a theme park attraction or land.
According to the official website Minecraft World will include:
Minecraft-themed attractions, including a thrilling world first coaster
Interactive adventures
Epic blockbuilt playscapes
Themed retail & dining.
Serious work is already underway on the new immersive land, which will be located on the former site of Wild Asia, or for older readers Beanoland. The most significant ride is set to be a brand new rollercoaster that will contain dark ride elements, which is rumoured to be an Intamin Multi Dimension model. This attraction will include sections both inside and outside of a massive showbuilding.
Theme Park Guide have captured some pictures of the Minecraft coaster construction which you can see on their social media.
It’s an exciting time for Chessington World of Adventures, after they recently opened another new land, the World of Paw Patrol.
