Visitors to Paultons Park can now experience a new £12 million themed world, Valgard: Realm of the Vikings which opened on Saturday 16th May 2026.
Early reviews of the area are very positive, with many praising the extensive theming around the land. Valgard is Paultons Park’s largest investment to date and sees the introduction of the park’s first inverting rollercoaster, Drakon. You can see the park's official video of the new coaster below, which is a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter model with a cuistom layout, similar to Saw - The Ride at Thorpe Park, or Rage at Adventure Island.
The new Viking-themed land is aimed at families with older children and teenagers, complementing the park’s other attractions, including Peppa Pig World. Valgard also features Vild Swing, a UK-first ride that swirls riders 12 metres in the air. The coaster formally known as Cobra has been rethemed to become known as Raven, and promises a thrilling bobsled adventure that complements the Viking village experience.
The opening of Valgard also revealed Paultons Park’s new highly themed Feasting Hall restaurant, complete with a life-size Viking longship dining experience and curated menu.
