Cedar Point re-opened the 420-foot monster Top Thrill 2 last weekend. Since being reimagined (previously known as Top Thrill Dragster) in 2024 it operated only briefly, before it closed for some significant modifications, believed to be to the new trains.
We’re delighted to see it back in action and seemingly getting rave reviews online. The tallest coaster in the world title has been passed around a lot lately as various classic rides close, but for now, Top Thrill 2 re-takes the title. When (if?) Falcon’s Flight opens at Six Flags Qiddiya in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia then it will lose the crown again.
If you don’t know much about Top Thrill 2, then check out this video that shows the re-imagined ride experience that swings you forwards and back before making it over the impressive top hat.
