After much speculation Paultons Park shared full details at the weekend of the new £12 million investment that is due to open in 2026. As per the hints posted in the build up, the new land will be themed around Vikings and called Valgard Realm of the Vikings.

The headline attraction will be a Drakon, a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter, the park’s first coaster to invert riders. It’s a move by the park into the older end of family entertainment and appears to be immersed within the park’s trademark high level of immersion. If you’re based in the UK you might have already taken a ride on a Euro-Fighter such as Rage at Adventure Island in Southend, or Saw - The Ride at Thorpe Park.

The other completely new attraction will be Vlad Swing, which is a Wild Swing model by ART Engineering. This will be a new style ride for the UK, and appears to be a sort of junior Top Spin. It could be another great addition for the park’s target audience.

We can also expect a Viking themed playground and ‘dining hall’ as part of Valgard in 2026.
