The 2025 season has not even started yet, but plans are already underway to upgrade the CBeebies area for 2026 with a brand-new roller coaster.
Plans submitted reveal this to likely be a very basic experience, aimed as you would expect in this area at the very youngest visitors. No name or theme has yet been confirmed, but the current favourite rumour is that the kids A-lister Bluey could be connected. Poor Postman Pat seems to have got the sack, and you can expect Postman Pat Parcel Post to be closed for good sometime in 2025. We’ll let you know when we hear more.
Those hankering for a coaster aimed at older visitors will need to wait a little longer, but there’s every chance Project Horizon will finally be underway soon, and ready to open in 2027. There’s every chance this is an indoor coaster, possibly even a modern adaptation of the classic Black Hole.
Here’s a look at the plans shared by TowersTimes X/Twitter page:
In an unusual move, Alton Towers shared the news themselves first in December. In the past official announcements have usually followed permission being granted. Given the scale of the ride, and the current use of the land, it’s very likely this will be approved.
